Folks love how the Tephra Trapwire feels in the hand and they dig how well it works for belaying and rappelling, but right away, we started getting requests for a general-use, multipurpose version.
Introducing the Tephra Pitch!
The Pitch removes the Trapwire so the Tephra frame can more easily be incorporated in toprope anchors, muliti-pitch belays and more.
Tephra is the Greek word for erupted elements from a volcano, and thanks to the unique hot-forged frame, the Tephra TrapWire is one of the strongest belay carabiners: 27kN rated strength (major axis) and a burly 10kN open-gate strength. The narrow, low-profile nose and keylock design make smooth, snag-free connections to belay loops, rappel devices, webbing and gear loops.
