Our axe features a bombproof 6061 T-6 aircraft quality aluminum shaft and a laser-cut NiCrMo head and spike. Its clean, simple lines mean that it packs easily, handles well and is comfortable to use. And it's built to take repeated beatings in the harshest conditions on the planet. Still, despite its durability, it's not an unwieldy beast like so many piolets on the market.
