Scallops are built with a taper along the narrow orientation and straight - sided along their width, permitting a perfect placement in either straight - sided or curved cracks. The scalloped edges permit fine - tuned security as you fit it over and around small crystals or rugosities. On the smaller sizes, the scallops will deform, slightly, under load, providing even more security. Cut and machined from extruded aluminum alloy, each head is anodized and color-coded for quick identification.
